arte 200: Enterance porfolio
Course Description:
This course explores a variety of studio media and focuses upon the development of studio
skills necessary for the successful teaching of K-12 art and design. Assignments progressively
define and articulate techniques in connection with interdisciplinary concepts and studio skills
that are the basis of good studio pedagogy, such as historical, contemporary, cross-cultural
contexts for the visual arts, composition as a method of communication, and applications of
traditional and nontraditional media. Lectures, assignments, critiques, and discussions
investigate specific visual problems with various creative solutions. This workshop-based course
is for art and design education per-service teachers to develop quality artwork for portfolio
reviews, a requirement in the educator licensure program.

For the eight pieces created this semester for ARTE 200, I decided to plan my entire portfolio around a story. This story of misery, heartbreak, a broke relationship, and the ups and downs in between, became a platform for all of my pieces to revolve around. Not only are these eight pieces of quality work, I played around with different mediums. By expanding my knowledge of art, I tried to add new techniques into my work as well. At the end of each project, the only thing that was very consistent was the overall theme.
